Daydreaming

I spent some time before the Patriots game yesterday trying out my crib, though I've yet to actually sleep in it. I like the stuffed animals that spin around above my head; at least Mom says they're stuffed animals - I see only colorful shapes moving.

I cried during most of the Patriots game, as it turned out; it was a very emotional game for me.

Hello, World!

I decided to wave at the camera this one time, just to say hello to everyone out there in Audience Land. You know who you are.

A Serious Character

On Wednesday, I said goodbye to Dad's dad and mom (aka Frank and Sylvia) for real. I am happy to report that both the grandparents and the Jubelale arrived intact in Pittsfield, Mass. I shall miss Grandpa Frank holding me for hours and taking me for stroller rides each day, and I wish Granny Syl well with her sudoku puzzles.

On Thursday, Mom took Dad and me to see Mr. and Mrs. Claus at the supermarket. Mr. Claus had an artificial white beard and a genuine big red nose; Mrs. Claus wore very strange eyeglasses. Lots of styles are cyclical, Dad explained, but we won't be seeing the likes of those again. Although Jimi Hendrix (the greatest lefty of all time, Dad said) was wrong about surf music.

Thanks for visiting, Grandpa Frank, Granny Syl, and Gaga (aka as Mom's mom)!

Happy (2 Month) B-Day to Me

Today I am two months old. Last night the three generations of us Jakubowicz men had our photo taken, and then I said goodbye to Dad's dad and mom (aka Frank and Sylvia) who were going back to Pittsfield, Massachusetts, today, with their Jubelale in their suitcase and songs in their hearts - but their flight was canceled. So here they are with us again, and I will say goodbye to them once more tonight. Dad explained what I now see to be true - goodbye does not mean forever. He said he got that from a greeting card.

Running into Sarah

At the aforementioned birthday party for Jenny and Sharon, who did I run into? My friend Sarah - who denied being dressed for a SCA party later in the evening.

Good Night, Grandpa Frank!

While telling me stories about his being a tank driver in the army, Grandpa Frank and I fell asleep.

Happy B-day, Sharon and Jenny!

Last night I went to a birthday party for Sharon (holding me here) and Jenny. They had cake, and I had milk. Diane, seated left, was kind enough to let me spit up on her later. Thanks, Diane! Happy B-day, Sharon and Jenny!

Puckering Up

Dad's Mom and Dad (aka Sylvia and Frank) Come to Oregon

Dad's mom and dad (aka Sylvia and Frank) have come to visit me in Oregon, and are stalking the streets of Portland as I speak. In the upper photograph, Dad's dad explains how I have to wait until I'm older before I can get one of those shirts. In the lower photo, I am crying while Dad's mom croons "I've Been Working on the Railroad" and Dad's dad and Mom's mom (aka Anne) look on. I said goodbye to Mom's mom today, as she left to go back to North Carolina. My paternal grandparents will be here for the next 2 weeks.

On Growing Older

My hair is starting to fall out, I am beginning to distinguish humans from pacifiers, and - I am told - I'm starting to smile. I'm not sure what a smile is, but Dad gave me a hint. He said it's what you do when Mom comes home or the Patriots win.

Scenes from Thanksgiving Dinner

Yesterday we had dinner at Emilie's home. In the upper photo, Emilie's dad, Jerry is holding me and explaning some of the finer points of WoW. In the background, you can see Dad, who was very pleased at the compliments he received for the amount of food he was able to fit onto one plate (our friend Wade was particularly awed).

In the lower photo, Mom's mom (Anne) is holding me and showing me the card from the table with my name on it, which indicated where I was to sit if I was able to keep my head from bobbling.

Thanks! Jerry, Andrea, and Emilie for the great dinner. If it were not for them we would have had to eat Jail-House Chili and Steak-Um sandwiches alone at home.

Happy Thanksgiving!

It's Thanksgiving. Dad does not have to work for four days, and he said we are going out to Save The Turkeys tonight. Tomorrow we are going to have dinner at my good friend Emilie's home, and there will be lots of people there.

Meeting Mom's Mom

Mom's mother is visiting for 2 weeks. Dad explained she is my maternal grandmother. She has another grandson named John and a granddaughter named C. C. Hi John and C. C.

Making New Friends

My mom took me to lunch at her friend Lisa's house. I met some other babies; and to be honest, I cried most of the time we were there - so you can probably pick out which baby I am in this picture. But just in case, from left to right, we are Amelia, Henry (me), Violet, Theo, and Dalia.

Getting Ready for Winter

Mom got me ready for winter weather before we went out yesterday. First, we tried the brown suit, but I had a little accident; so then we tried the white suit with the ears, and we were good to go. Dad's mom (aka Sylvia) has also sent me a snowsuit with ears for when I'm a little bigger. Which means I am set for my first winter - in Portland, Oregon. Dad has advised cutting the sleeves off the suits; he says it will make me look like a very great football coach named Bill Belichick. Dad is obsessed with this man's team, the New England Patriots.

Mom's mother (Anne) and Dad's mom and dad (aka Sylvia and Frank) will be visiting soon this month, and I am very excited to meet them at the airport in one of my new snowsuits.

Happy (4 Week) Birthday to Me

I'm 4 weeks old today. Mom took me to the doctor's to be weighed, and I weigh 8 pounds. I spent my day sleeping with Mom while we went out to eat breakfast and then to the mall. We came home after that, Dad changed my diaper twice in quick succession (hehe), and then I fell asleep on Dad's lap.

Emilie and Me

Here's Emilie; we met last week at a party. I also met Emilie's cats, Ralphie and Josephine. Ralphie sat in Dad's lap, and Josephine prowled about the house. I slept most of the evening.

Chatting with Sarah

My friend Sarah visited today, and we had a good time chatting. I'll be going to her Wii-Birthday party tomorrow.

Happy Halloween!

I didn't have a costume, so I tried out a nice sweater my grandmother (Dad's mom aka Sylvia) made for me. Dad said he cut the sleeves off his old hoodie and went to work as Bill Belichick - I'm leaving the sleeves on my new sweater for now.

Lunch at Russell Street BBQ

Mom took me out to lunch for my afternoon nap. We went to Russell Street BBQ, and while I didn't try anything there (mothers' milk was not on the menu), Mom said it's a great restaurant.

My Sox Are Red

These are photos of me recovering from my first World Series celebration. Mom and Dad watched the game last night with me, and told me I was seeing the Red Sox win their second World Series in 4 years. I want to be what Theo Epstein is when I grow up. Aunt Maryann made the baseball blanket for me. Hi Hope and Mae.

Happy (2 Week) Birthday to Me

Here are a couple of photos taken on my 2 week birthday. I celebrated with my mother's milk. Someday she will let me eat cake.

Sleeping In

Sleeping is one of the three things I do really well as I near the start of my third week of life.

Game Face

Dad and I watched a football game yesterday. Dad has been obsessed with a team called the New England Patriots for a very long time. Dad explained that watching colors and moving shapes is good for people my age. And he said football is based on something called Newtonian physics, which I'll learn about in school some day.

Separated at Birth

My parents were trying to decide which famous person I looked most like. My mom says I look like a Doozer from Fraggle Rock. My dad said Jon Kitna. I think they are crazy - you decide.

Just A-Settin' and A-Rockin'

I enjoyed sitting on my new rocking chair thing for 5 minutes; and then I got bored, and cried so Mom would come and get me out of here and hold me.
